Understand The Types Of Siding For Your Home
If you’ve been googling how to pick the right siding for your home then you have probably come across all of the different options that are available to you. A bit overwhelming, right? Well, let’s go ahead and breakdown the options that you have in an easy to understand list.
The three types of siding that we work with the most are Vinyl Siding, Steel Siding, and Cement Siding. Once you’ve made your decision about what kind of siding, it’s also important to think about whether you want Horizontal Siding, Vertical Siding, or Shingle Siding.
Let’s talk about each of the three types of siding quickly.
- What Is Vinyl Siding: Vinyl siding is actually becoming more and more popular. It’s very affordable, practical, and just a great all-around option to go with. When done right, you don’t have to worry about color fading or extreme wear and tear. It also works and looks really good when paired with wood.
- What Is Steel Siding: Steel siding is very durable, much like vinyl siding, and it’s available in practically any color you may want to use for your home. Steel siding is typically coated with a protective layer of zinc or vinyl, which will help to protect the steel on your home from rusting.
- What Is Cement Siding: The cement siding that is used on your home is a fiber cement and it is a composite manufactured of sand, cement and cellulose fibers. It’s often installed in an overlapping horizontal board profile, clapboard and imitation shingles.
