Choosing a roofing contractor is one of the biggest decisions a homeowner makes, and the right choice looks different in every community. A roofer who knows Blaine’s neighborhoods and hail history isn’t automatically the best fit for St. Peter or Wausau. That’s why we put together local guides for each area we serve, so you can compare real options without the guesswork.
Innovative Building & Design (IBD) has served homeowners since 2008 from offices in Blaine, MN and Eau Claire, WI. Each guide below is written by our team, includes IBD alongside other area roofing companies, and explains what to look for before you sign a contract. Find your community below.

What to Look for in Any Roofing Contractor
No matter where you live, a few questions help separate dependable roofers from the rest:
- Licensing and insurance. Ask for proof, and check it with your state.
- Manufacturer certifications. Programs like GAF Certified Plus usually mean stronger warranties on materials and workmanship.
- Who does the work. Ask whether the crew is employed by the company or subcontracted for each job.
- Insurance claim experience. After hail or wind damage, a contractor who works with adjusters every day can make the claim far less stressful.
- Local responsiveness. Ask how quickly they can respond to a leak or a warranty question.
Had a Storm Claim Denied?
It’s more common than most homeowners expect. IBD has a dedicated Claims Success Manager who handles second inspections, documents damage the first inspection missed, and helps determine whether a reinspection is warranted. If you were told your roof doesn’t have enough damage to qualify, start here for storm damage help or explore IBD’s residential roofing services.
